(FORT FRANCES, ON) – On Saturday November 30, 2013 Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) hosted a Stuff A Cruiser event in Atikokan. With the assistance of our policing partners, OPP officers and volunteers were outside Atikokan Foodland and the Atikokan Economic Development Office between 1pm – 7pm. Together, we stuffed 10 cruisers full of non-perishable food items to help support the Atikokan Native Friendship Centre/Ashandiwin Food Bank, Atikokan Christmas Cheer and the Faith Lutheran Church Food Bank. All items were turned over to these organizations to assist with the goal that everyone in our community is able to enjoy the festive season.
The OPP would like to thank all the volunteers and community members for their help in making this event a success. We are looking forward to Stuff A Cruiser in the west end of the Rainy River District taking place in Fort Frances, Emo and Rainy River on Saturday December 14, 2013. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!
