(Marmora, ON) – On December 7, 2013 at 1:40 a.m. Central Hastings O.P.P responded to a single vehicle collision resulting in injuries on Lakeshore Road in the Municipality of Marmora and Lake. The investigation revealed the male driver, who had been consuming alcohol, was driving eastbound on Lakeshore Road when his sports utility vehicle left the roadway, struck two large fence posts and hit a tree. A female passenger was transported to hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries.
As a result, 35 year old Darrell SHORT of Madoc ON was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with Over 80MGS Blood Alcohol Content – Causing Accident with Bodily Harm. He will appear at Ontario Court of Justice, Belleville on January 2, 2014.
