(Oro-Medonte, ON) Barrie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged 4 males and recovered stolen electronics in relation to a theft from an Orillia Walmart.
On Wednesday, September 18th, 2013 at 11:17 pm an officer from the Barrie OPP stopped a motor vehicle southbound on Highway 400 in the city of Barrie for a traffic violation. During the stop it was discovered the licence plates were reported stolen from Guelph, all four occupants were arrested. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed electronics and video games still in their plastic wrapping. The items were seized as possible stolen property.
Further investigation confirmed the items were stolen and arrest warrants were prepared. Four Guelph males, Jason YAKE age 29, Christopher ARSENAULT age 20, Christopher FORTNER age 33, and Brandon HAINES age 20 have been charged with Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 and are to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie at a future date.
