Police were called to south end home with regards to a domestic assault that had occurred. A female reported that her husband came home in an intoxicated state. He smashed the door of the matrimonial home in order to gain entry to the residence.
Once inside the couple became involved in an argument and the 34 year old male assaulted his wife by throwing her around the home. As police were called, he made good his escape after smashing another door in the home.
Police located the male a short distance from the house and arrested him for domestic assault and domestic mischief. He was held for a bail hearing.
