OPP ARREST MALE AFTER PURSUIT

(PARRY SOUND, ON) – On December 9, 2013 at approximately 2:12 p.m. members of the West Parry Sound detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attempted to stop a vehicle on William Street in the Town of Parry Sound. The driver refused to stop for Police and continued on the road making several dangerous manoeuvers. Once on Gibson Street near William Beatty Public School, the vehicle crashed into a telephone pole. The vehicle backed out and continued fleeing from police. The driver finally stopped the vehicle when he reached a dead end where he was arrested by Police.

Rosswell TABOBONDUNG, 29 years of age from Wasauksing First Nation, was charged with the following:

– Flight from peace officer, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)

– Dangerous driving, contrary to the CCC

– Fail to remain, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)

– Drive motor vehicle – no licence, contrary to the HTA

– Use plate not authorized, contrary to the HTA

– Use validation not furnished for vehicle, contrary to the HTA

– Fail to surrender insurance card, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA)

The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice Parry Sound.
