(CALEDON, ON) – On December 11th, 2013 shortly after 11 pm, officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) blitz in the area of Queensgate Boulevard and Landsbridge Street in the Village of Bolton.
A gray Honda Civic approached the spot check and when the officers spoke with the male driver, they detected an odour of alcohol on the driver’s breath. As a result, the officers demanded the driver produce a sample of his breath into an approved screening device. The driver refused to comply with the officer’s demand.
In conclusion, Trevor Lee MARTIN, 35, of Newmarket was arrested and charged with Refuse to Provide a Sample.
The Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused is scheduled to make his first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on January 16, 2014.
