(Bancroft, Ontario) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted the annual Festive R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) campaign from November 23rd, 2013 to January 2, 2014. During that time the Bancroft OPP was visible conducting R.I.D.E. checks at various locations throughout the Bancroft detachment area.
A total of 2845 vehicles were checked during the Festive R.I.D.E. 4 Impaired/Over 80 charges were laid and 3 driver’s licence suspensions were issued for registering a “warn†on an approved screening instrument. 22 Highway Traffic Act charges were laid and 3 Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act charges were laid.
The Bancroft OPP reminds the public that R.I.D.E. checks is not just a holiday campaign. R.I.D.E. will continue throughout the year.
