(Havelock Belmont Methuen Township, ON) – On January 4, at approximately 1:30 a.m. members of the Peterborough County OPP were called to investigate a report of a domestic dispute that occurred at an Ottawa Street residence in the Village of Havelock.
Attending officers were advised that a 21 year old female and a 30 year old male had been involved in a domestic relationship. On this date the two had become involved in a argument when the male assaulted the female. The female then attempted to leave the residence and the male damaged the vehicle she was using to prevent her from leaving.
As a result a 30 year old male resident of Havelock has been charged with Assault and Mischief Under $5000. He was held in custody with a bail hearing scheduled for January 6 2014 to appear in Peterborough Provincial Courts.
The identities of the parties involved are being withheld due to the nature of the offence.
