(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) recently executed a warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) at a local residence.
On January 9, 2014 officers from the Kawartha Lakes OPP Crime Unit, the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a warrant at a residence on Hillcrest Avenue in Kirkfield. As a result, an unspecified amount of cocaine, oxycodone, marihuana and Canadian currency were seized.
Stephen Cooper, 47 years of age and his wife, Alyssa Cooper, 35 years of age, both of Kirkfield were arrested and charged with the following offences:
Possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine
Possession for the purpose of trafficking in oxycodone
Possession of marihuana
Possession of property obtained by crime, under $5 000
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on February 27, 2014.
