(HALIBURTON, ON) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating the theft of a snowmobile from the Rail Trail at County Road 1 in the Municipality of Dysart et al. On Friday January 10, 2014 at approximately 7:15 pm, a couple from Fenelon Falls was out snowmobiling along the trail when they stopped for a break. The operator was unable to restart the snowmobile and the couple was forced to walk back to their cottage. When the couple returned in the morning to retrieve it, the snowmobile was gone. Police are looking for a white 2009 Polaris Dragon SP 800cc, bearing Ontario licence # 987397 and VIN # SN1PE8ES39C679036.
Anyone with information regarding the theft is asked to contact Constable CARMOUNT at the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the OPP at (705) 286-1431 or the Kawartha-Haliburton Crime Stoppers at 1 800 222-8477, on-line at www.khcs.ca .
