(Bancroft, Ontario) – On Thursday the 16th of January 2014, Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division were conducting a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) check on Township Road 620 in Wollaston Township. During the R.I.D.E. a male was found to have open alcohol in his pickup truck. Further investigation revealed that there was also marihuana in the vehicle.
58 year old Gary MELROSE of Bowmanville, Ontario has been charged with possession of marihuana and having open liquor in a motor vehicle. Mr. MELROSE was issued an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft, Ontario on the 18th of February 2014.
