POLICE RESPOND TO FATAL COLLISION

(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON)- On Friday January 24, 2014 at 10:28 a.m. members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and North Middlesex Fire Department responded to reports of a vehicle partially submerged at the river’s edge just off Mooresville Road at Maguire Road, North Middlesex.

Police arrived on scene and located a grey GMC pick-up truck partially submerged. The vehicle was observed with damage consistent from a motor vehicle collision. Emergency crews worked to remove the damaged pick-up truck at which time police located a lone deceased male within the vehicle.

Members of the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) are currently on scene assisting with the investigation. As a result police have closed Mooresville Road between Maguire Road and Brinsley Road. The roadway is expected to be closed for the next two to three hours.

The identity of the deceased male is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and a post mortem examination.

The investigation is on-going.
