(Cavan Monaghan Township, ON) – On Wednesday February 5, at approximately 11:45 a.m., members of the Peterborough County OPP had occasion to investigate a motor vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and a residence on County Road 28.
Officers from Peterborough County OPP were travelling west on County Road 2. They observed a Blue GMC pickup truck over take and, pass them in the same direction seeming to ignore the inclement weather and the road conditions at the time.
The pickup truck upon arriving at the intersection of County Road 28 in Baileboro was unable to stop at the intersection, and mounted a snowbank on the opposite side of the road then continued westbound striking the front of a residence on County Road 28 where it partially entered the building before coming to rest.
Officers quickly determined that no one was injured in the home or in the motor vehicle and an investigation was conducted.
As a result of the investigation the lone occupant, of the vehicle 71 year old William JACKSON of Peterborough has been charged with the Highway Traffic Offence of Careless Driving.
The OPP take this time to remind drivers that they need to make allowances for weather and road conditions and adjust accordingly in order to keep our roadways safe.
