WEEKEND WRAP UP

(NOTTAWASAGA, ON)- Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were busy on the roads this weekend as well as receiving 122 calls for Police service.

On Saturday, February 8th at 1:52am, during a proactive patrol, Police checked a pickup truck parked in the middle of the road on James A. McCague Avenue in the Town of New Tecumseth. It was an area in a new housing development where there are currently no occupants. An investigation began into the reason why the truck was parked in that location, the driver of the truck was asked to provide a sample of his breath which he failed. Charged is Neil PERRY 29 year old Essa resident, he is charged with one count of Over 80 mgs and will appear in court on the 3rd of April 2014 in Bradford, ON.

Over the weekend, OPP conducted six separate R.I.D.E programs in the Nottawasaga area; during one program on Sunday February 9th, 2014 on King Street in Essa Township, a 19 year old driver came through the program and was stopped for further investigation. Charged is Essa Township resident, Curtis HARRIS, he is issued with two Provincial Offence Notice’s for Drive motor vehicle-no licence and Blood Alcohol Count (BAC) above zero under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

On Sunday, February 9th at 2:59am, Officers from Nottawasaga OPP were patrolling the Town of New Tecumseth and noticed a vehicle with the engine running in a Mill Street East parking lot, the driver of the vehicle was tested for the presence of alcohol and later charged. Charged is 41 year old Town of New Tecumseth resident Elisabeth RAGOGNA, she is charged with Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle- over 80 mgs under the Criminal Code of Canada and will appear in court on February 27th, 2014 in Bradford.

Nottawasaga OPP will be conducting RIDE programs 365 days a year to ensure the safety of the motoring public.
