(HALIBURTON, ON) – On Tuesday February 11, 2014 officers from the Central Region Drug Unit assisted by Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a search warrant on a Madill Road residence in the Municipality of Highlands East, Ontario. Police located a large indoor marihuana grow operation. Officers seized 51 Marihuana plants, 2 kg of harvested Marihauna bud and 341 grams of Cannabis Resin. As a result two males were arrested at the scene and charged with the following offences:
Brian MERRLLES age 42 from Gilmour Ontario
Production of a Controlled Substance – Marihuana
Production of a Controlled Substance – Cannabis resin
Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – 2 counts
Mark SAVARY age 50 from Richmond Hill Ontario
Production of a Controlled Substance – Marihuana
Production of a Controlled Substance – Cannabis resin
Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – 2 counts
Fail to Comply with Recognizance
MERRLLES was released and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Minden Ontario on April 02, 2014. SAVARY was scheduled for a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay Ontario on February 12, 2014
