The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man for impaired driving in Tilbury last night.
At approximately 7:00 p.m. police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Canal Street West at Dupuis Street. The man was travelling westbound on Canal Street when he turned left into the path of an oncoming pick-up truck. Through investigation, the officer believed that the man was operating his car while under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested. The man was transported to police headquarters for further breath tests.
Blake Donais, 50 years, of Crawford Street in Tilbury has been charged with impaired driving and failing to provide a breath sample. He was released from custody pending a future court date.
Neither driver was injured as a result of the collision. Total damage was estimated at $3500.
