DRIVER CHARGED AFTER COLLISION WITH PARKED VEHICLE

(Town of Mississippi Mills, ON) – At 1.00 am on Sunday 16th February 2014 Officers from the Lanark County Detachment Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a vehicle automated 911 activation in Almonte Town of Mississippi Mills. Initial information was that the driver had struck the emergency button in error.

Investigation revealed that a Buick Enclave parked on Mary Street in Almonte had been struck by a Ford Focus. There were no injuries to any person as a result of the impact.

The driver of the Ford Focus, Rebecca POULSON of Lanark County, was charged with 1. Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle
2. Operating a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol per 100 Millilitres of Blood.

Both offences are contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

POULSON was released to appear at a subsequent date at Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.
