21 Year Old Deceased In Motorcycle Crash

(WARWICK TOWNSHIP, ON) – Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue to investigate a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred this past weekend in Warwick Township.

Just before 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2018 Lambton County OPP, Lambton County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Warwick Fire Department personnel responded to the collision scene located on Egremont Road near Digby Street just outside of Warwick.

Upon arrival police and EMS located a motorcycle and the driver of the motorcycle lying in the south ditch with vital signs absent. The male driver/lone occupant was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The preliminary investigation has determined the driver of the motorcycle was travelling eastbound on Egremont Road when he failed to negotiate a bend in the roadway. His motorcycle subsequently left the roadway, entered the ditch and ultimately collided with a hydro pole.

The deceased has been identified as 21-year-old Wesley FERGUSON from Warwick.

A post-mortem examination was scheduled for today’s date.

Investigators from the West Region OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) Team attended the scene to assist with the collision investigation.
