(KENORA, ON) – The Treaty Three Police Service, with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) North West Region Crime Unit is currently investigating an assault on the First Nation Territory of Wabaseemoong (Whitedog). Treaty Three Police received a report that a male had been assaulted with a weapon on Wednesday February 19, 2014 at around 2:00 am. The male victim was transported to Lake of the Woods District Hospital by ambulance with life threatening injuries.
As a result of this investigation, a 27 year old Wagaseemong man has been arrested for Aggravated Assault contrary to the Criminal Code and will appear in Kenora Court on February 20, 2014 to answer to the charge.
