(MUNCIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at approximately 4:36 p.m. a member of the Ontario Provincial Police – Highway Safety Division Mount Forest Traffic Management Unit stopped a vehicle on Grey Rd. 31 just north of Singhampton in the Municipality of Grey Highlands for a stop sign violation.
The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol and, as a result, was given a demand to provide a sample of her breath into an approved screening device by the officer. The driver failed to provide a suitable sample of her breath, despite several opportunities to do so.
Kinga KRISTON, 46, of Collingwood, Ontario was arrested and charged with “Fail or Refuse to Provide Sample†contrary to the Criminal Code.
The penalties for this offence are the same as an impaired driving charge.
She was issued a 90 driver’s licence suspension and her vehicle, a 2011 MBW 3281, was impounded for 7 days.
She is scheduled to appear in Court in Owen Sound on Thursday, March 13, 2014.
