(KENORA, ON) On Wednesday February 19, 2014 at approximately 12:30 pm, members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on a Manitoba vehicle on Highway 17A. The investigation led to the arrest of two men and a search of the vehicle located approximately four and a half pounds of suspected marijuana, and an amount of Canadian Currency in the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, 38 year old Ronen ESTEIN and 46 year old Mario TRUNZO of Winnipeg have been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking-Cannabis contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code. Both men have been held in custody and are to appear in court on February 20, 2014.
The street value of the drugs is estimated to be approximately $10,800.
