POLICE CHARGE TWO YOUTHS IN BREAK AND ENTER

(TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH, ON)- On February 20, 2014 at 5:35pm, Nottawasga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call for a break and enter to a basement apartment of a Tupper Street East address in the Town of New Tecumseth.

OPP Officers arrived in minutes and spoke with the victim of the crime. Police conducted an immediate search of the area and located the two suspects at the intersection of Dufferin and Wellington Streets.

Charged are two males from the Town of New Tecumseth, both aged 16 years of age. Neither of the two males can be identified as per the provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) to protect their identity. Between the two males the following YCJA charges were laid:

Break, enter a dwelling place with intent to commit an indictable offence x two
Disguise with intent,
Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose.

Both males were held for a Bail hearing in Barrie on 21 February 2014.
