SIOUX LOOKOUT OPP CHARGE 2 OFFENDERS WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING

(SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON.) The Sioux Lookout Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the North Caribou Lake Police (formerly named the Weagamow Lake Police) have charged 2 offenders with impaired driving over the course of the weekend.

During the evening of Friday February 21, officers working in the remote First Nation Territory of North Caribou Lake received information that the community grader operator was clearing the roads while under the influence of alcohol. Officers located the grader, and administered a road-side screening device to the operator, who subsequently failed.

Charged with operating a motor vehicle over the legal limit is 46 year old Donald QUEQUISH of North Caribou Lake.

QUEQUISH was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in North Caribou Lake court on April 3, 2014.

During the evening of Saturday February 22, members of the Sioux Lookout OPP responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Sturgeon River Road. The driver was located by police shortly after receiving the call for service, and was found to be heavily under the influence of alcohol.

As a result of the investigation, 19 year old Harrison HOEY of Sioux Lookout was subsequently arrested and charged with impaired operation and operating a motor vehicle above the legal limit.

HOEY was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Sioux Lookout court on March 25, 2014.
