(LUCAN-BIDDULPH, ON)- At 5:50 p.m. members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Lucan-Biddulph Fire Department and Middlesex-London Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Richmond Street and Elginfield Road just south of Lucan.
Police have learned that a motor vehicle was travelling eastbound on Elginfield Road when it entered the intersection and collided with a minivan, travelling northbound on Richmond Street. The impact caused the minivan to leave the roadway, enter the eastbound ditch and roll. As a result of the collision three parties, including a child were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police have closed the intersection of Richmond Street and Elginfield Road as members of the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) team assist the Middlesex OPP with the investigation. The roadway is expected to be closed for the next 4 hours.
Police are asking the public to avoid this area as emergency crews work to clear the scene and to ensure the safety of all involved.
The investigation is on-going at this time and charges are pending.
