(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On March 7, 2014 at approximately
3:19 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) programs on Wellington Road 29 at Wellington Road 22 in Guelph-Eramosa Twp.
At this time and location police spoke with the occupants of a Dodge Dakota pick-up truck that entered into the checkpoint and immediately detected the strong odour of fresh marihuana emanating from the interior of the motor vehicle. A clear plastic baggy containing marihuana was turned over and seized by police.
Bryan Stewart age 18 of Centre Wellington Twp. has be charged with Possession of Marihuana – Under 30 grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on April 18, 2014 to answer to the charge.
