Shamus BOURDON – Drunk Driving

(GODERICH, ON) – A driver that failed to wear his seatbelt and activate his headlights caught the attention of a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer late Friday, March 7, 2014. Shortly before 11:00 p.m. a Huron County OPP officer observed a Dodge Caravan travelling around Courthouse Square in Goderich. The driver was not wearing his seatbelt and the vehicle lights were not activated. Upon stopping the van, officers spoke with the male driver. Officers noted the driver had been drinking alcohol prompting a roadside screening test. The driver failed the roadside tests and was arrested at the scene. He was later transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. He provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician; Both tests were over the legal limit.

As a result, 40 year old Shamus BOURDON from Fort Erie has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on March 31, 2014. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
