(KENORA, ON) – On Saturday March 8, 2014 at approximately 10:00 am, members of the Treaty Three Police Service (T3PS) were dispatched to a residence regarding a report of a deceased male on the First Nation Territory of Washagamis Bay. A 39 year old male was located at a residence on the community and pronounced dead at the scene by Emergency Services. A post mortem examination was conducted on Monday March 10, 2014 at Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
The deceased has been identified at Matthew CHERRY of Washagamis Bay.
The death has not been deemed suspicious at this time but T3PS is continuing to investigate the incident with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Northwest Region Crime Unit and the OPP Forensic Identification Unit.
