(PETERBOROUGH COUNTY, ON.) – A recent vehicle stop conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in the driver being arrested for an alcohol related offence.
On March 8, 2014 an OPP officer conducted a vehicle stop to confirm the insurance status of the vehicle. The officer determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol and subsequently conducted a road side test.
As a result of the investigation Lawrence NACHOFF, 44 years of age, of Cavan-Monaghan Township, was charged with driving with more than 80mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood, contrary to the Criminal Code. Mr. NACHOFF’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
The accused was also charged with operating a motor vehicle without insurance, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
The accused will appear in court, in Peterborough on April 17, 2014.
