(PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP, ON) – On March 9, 2014 at approximately 6:52 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers observed a 1999 Saturn travelling at a high rate of speed on Wellington Road 46 near Gilmour Road in Puslinch Twp.
Police spoke with the driver and discovered that he had been drinking. He was administered a Roadside Screening Device test which resulted in a fail.
Francisco Fernandez age 45 of Puslinch Township has been charged with Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. The driver was also charged with offences under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on April 1, 2014 to answer to the charges.
The Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motor vehicle impounded for seven days.
