Karl Westwood – Drunk Driving

(CENTRE WELLINGON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On March 10, 2014 at approximately 5:40 p.m. officers from the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a single motor vehicle rollover on Wellington Road 19 near the Fourth Line in Centre Wellington Township.

Upon speaking with the driver, police determined that he had been drinking. After completing field sobriety testing officers determined that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by the consumption of alcohol and he was arrested. The vehicle was searched subsequent to arrest and two pill bottles were located that contained possible controlled substances.

Karl Westwood age 58 of Arthur of Halton Hills has been charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and Possession of a Scheduled 1 Substance – Other Drug x 2 contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal court on April 11, 2014 to answer to the charges.
