(NORWICH TOWNSHIP, ON.) – On March 16, 2014 shortly before 6:00 p.m., Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a house fire on Stover Street in Norwich. Officers arrived on scene along with members of the Norwich Fire Department to find a home fully engulfed in flames.
The residents who were home at the time of the fire escaped without injury.
Woodstock Fire Department was also called in to assist. Roads in the area were closed for several hours to assist the fire department. Victim Services of Oxford County attended the scene to assist the residents who were displaced due to the fire.
The cause of the fire is not deemed to be suspicious and is believed to have started with a wood stove.
