VEHICLE WINDOWS SMASHED

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating several incidents involving vehicle windows being smashed and personal items being removed from the vehicle.

On March 19, 2014 an OPP officer attended the arena in Little Britain when it was discovered that the rear window of three vehicles had been smashed. Personal items including cash, purses and a laptop computer were stolen.

A similar situation occurred later that night at the arena in Oakwood where one vehicle had its rear window smashed and a lap top computer was stolen.

On March 14, 2014 an OPP officer attended the ski hill on Bethany Hills Road after receiving information that two vehicles had been broken into. Both vehicles had a window smashed and a purse removed.

The OPP would like to remind everyone to store any valuables out of sight when parking a vehicle in a public venue such as an arena, grocery store or mall parking lot.
