Car Seat Safety Lanes in Mitchell Today

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) Today, Wednesday April 13, 2011 is the first day of the Spring Seatbelt Campaign in Ontario. What better time, than to have your car seat checked?

From 1-3 p.m. Perth County OPP officers will be set up on Huron Road (Hwy.8) in Mitchell conducting “Car Seat Lanes”. Officers will stop traffic and speak with drivers who have car seats and encourage them to have their car seat installation inspected. Car seat technicians will be set up at the Value Mart Parking Lot east of the Main Street United Church to check car seats on a voluntary basis. Drivers will also receive some of the updated information and requirements pertaining to car seats.

This car seat lane is sponsored by the M.T.O., Perth Care for Kids, the Perth District Health Unit and the Perth County O.P.P.

Yesterdays “Car Seat Lanes” in St.Marys was a tremendous success as a total of 40 car seats were checked. This means that 40 Perth County children will travel more safely.
