(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – A vehicle stop recently conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has resulted in a local male being charged with racing.
On April 6, 2014 an OPP officer observed a vehicle travelling at 152 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on Highway 7 near Orange Corners and subsequently stopped the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation a 17 year old male was charged with racing, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and his driver’s licence was suspended. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on April 22, 2014.
