(ENGLEHART, ON) A member of the Englehart Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle for erratic driving on April 1, 2014 at approximately 7:55 p.m.
Police stopped the suspect vehicle on Highway 11 in Evanturel Township. Further investigation resulted in the driver facing several charges.
Donald MCCONVEY, 51, of Oro-Medonte, is charged for Over 80 – section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code, Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor – section 32(1) of the Liquor Licence Act, Driving motor vehicle with liquor in open baggage – section 32(1) of the Liquor Licence Act, Consuming liquor in other than licenced premise, residence or private place – section 31(2) of the Liquor Licence Act.
The vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days.
The accused will appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury on April 29, 2014.
