DRUG ARREST AND SEIZURE

On Sunday, April 6, 2014 at approximately 3:00 am, officers were conducting a RIDE spot check on Highway 61 and Chippewa Road. Officers stopped the driver of a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu that was proceeding through the spot check. The officers observed a small quantity of what appeared to be Marihuana within the vehicle. The driver was arrested and a subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a small quantity of what appeared to be Cocaine and several pieces of Crack Cocaine.

Conrad BANNON, 23 years of age from Fort William First Nation was charged with Possession of a Schedule l Substance – Cocaine, and Possession of a Schedule ll Substance – Marihuana, under 30 grams, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

He is to appear in Court on May 27 2014 to answer to the charges.
