(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On April 5, 2014, just before 4:30 a.m., a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting RADAR enforcement on Highway 401 eastbound near Orford Road.
The officer observed an Audi vehicle that appeared to be exceeding the posted speed limit of 100 km/hr. The RADAR registered a speed of 157 km/hr.
The female driver, Jovina AVAKIAN, age 19, from Windsor, ON has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The driver’s licence has been suspended and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days, as per statute.
