OPP KEPT BUSY ON THE WEEKEND

(ESSEX COUNTY, ON) -The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Essex County was kept busy this past weekend.

On Friday, April 4, 2014, officers received a report of a Chrysler on Essex County Road 8 and Essex County Road 11 in Tecumseh that was stopped in the middle of the roadway. Officers arrived and spoke to the female driver of the vehicle who exhibited signs of impairment.

Brenda DUROCHER, age 49 of Essex has been charged with Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired and Fail or Refuse to Provide Breath Sample. She will appear in a Windsor court on May 13, 2014.

Later that evening, a 36 year old Essex County man was arrested and charged with Assault and Forcible Confinement. He will appear in a Windsor court at a later date.

On Saturday, April 5, 2014, officers in Kingsville on routine patrol on Division Street at Beech Street were almost struck by an oncoming Pontiac van.

Officers spoke to the male driver of the vehicle who exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene.

Shannon MCKENZIE, age 36 of Kingsville, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Exceed 80 milligrams of Blood Alcohol Content. He will appear in a Windsor court on April 30, 2014.
