(Selwyn Township, ON) – On April 16, at approximately 11:40 a.m. members of the Peterborough County OPP were called to investigate a report of an assault that occurred in a group home on Lindsay Road.
Attending officers were advised that a 15 year old male had been involved in a physical confrontation in a group home with workers, when he attempted to steal a purse. During the confrontation the youth assaulted a staff member.
Police attended the residence and as a result, the 15 year old Toronto youth has been charged with Assault and Failing to Comply wth his Recognizance.
The youth has been held for a bail hearing on 17 April 2014 in Peterborough Youth court.
The identities of the parties involved are being withheld due to the nature of the offence.
