On April 15, 2014, Kitchener resident Ronald SMUK was arrested by the Waterloo Regional Police Service for 13 counts of Fraud Under $5000 and 2 counts of Attempt Fraud under $5000. These charges are in relation to a police investigation into fraudulent returns of merchandise at home improvement stores throughout Ontario. Total losses are estimated at $6600. This investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
