(ALNWICK-HALDIMAND, ON) – On Saturday April 19, 2014 Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police were conducting a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) spot check when officers stopped a vehicle that was emitting an odour of marihuana.
The OPP officers stopped a 2004 Dodge Dakota pickup truck travelling northbound on County Road 23 at County Road 22 in Centreton when the initial officer detected an odour of fresh unburnt marihuana coming from the vehicle. The officers on scene conducted an investigation and found 40 grams of marihuana inside the vehicle. The drugs were seized and two occupants were arrested. A three year old female child was asleep in the rear of the vehicle while police investigated.
Julie L. HOWARD, 25 and Christopher Martin WARNER, 30 both from Gores Landing, Ontario have been released on an appearance notice to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on Wednesday May 7, 2014 at 9:30 am for the charge of possession of a schedule ll substance – cannabis marihuana over 30 grams under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
