(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – On April 18, 2014 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received several calls related to a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner in the Pontypool area. An officer was able to locate the vehicle and stopped it on John Street near Pontypool Road.
The officer determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol and subsequently arrested the driver. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
As a result of the incident Michael BECKETT, 49 years of age, of Newcastle, was charged with impaired driving and driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 mL of blood, contrary to the Criminal Code.
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on May 1, 2014.
