(CALEDON, ON) – On April 22, 2014 shortly after 9 am, an officer from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 10 near the Forks of the Credit Road. The officer observed the driver of a Chevrolet Cruze travelling southbound at a high rate of speed and observed as he proceeded westbound on the Forks of the Credit Road in order to evade police. The driver entered a 50 km/hr posted limit zone and the officer determined that the vehicle was being operating at 101 km/hr. Subsequently, the officer initiated a traffic stop.
As a result, David William O’Dwyer, 21, of Mono was charged with Race a Motor Vehicle.
The vehicle was impounded for seven days as a result of the stunt driving charge.
The driver is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Caledon on May 21st, 2014.
