(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On Tuesday, April 29, 2013 at approximately 7:57 p.m., a Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol, observed a 2004 Honda Civic vehicle travelling at an excessive rate of speed westbound on Grey Road 18, east of Inglis Falls Road in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.
The cruiser’s radar was activated and the oncoming vehicle registered a speed of 137 km/hr. The posted speed limit was 80 km/hr.
Lucas OVEREEM, 18, of the Township of Chatsworth, was issued a summons for racing a motor vehicle under the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on June 19, 2014.
The vehicle was impounded and his driver’s licence suspended for seven days.
