(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Friday July 08, 2011 shortly after 7:20 p.m. an OPP officer on patrol along Perth Line 20 west of Russeldale observed a fast moving car. The car was locked in on radar at 135 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. The 19 year old male driver from Oakville was charged with “racingâ€Â, he will have to appear in Stratford Court on August 09, 2011 to answer this charge. His drivers licence was immediately suspended for 7 days and his vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days.
The driver and the 3 passengers took a cab and continued their journey to Grand Bend.
On Saturday July 09, 2011 at approximately 7 p.m. an OPP officer observed another car driving extremely fast in the same location as the car the day before. This vehicle was locked in on radar at 137 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. The 21 year old male driver from Kitchener was also charged with “racingâ€Â, he will appear in Stratford Court on August 09, 2011 to answer to the same charge. His drivers licence was suspended for a week and his car was towed and impounded for 7 days.
The driver and his two passengers (one of which was his 4 year old son) had to arrange for other means of transportation to reach their destination.
