(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment has charged a 27 year old male and a 30 year old male after Marine Unit officers observed both males engaging in dangerous behaviour at a Harbour Street, Port Dover, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Saturday, June 28, 2014 at approximately 5:00 p.m., members of the Norfolk County OPP Marine Unit were conducting patrols in the area of the Port Dover Pier when two males attracted the officer’s attention.
Through investigation it was determined that both males were jumping off the pier into the Lynn River. Police were concerned for the safety of both individuals due to the high amount of vessel traffic that was in the area.
As a result of the investigation, 27 year old Kevin Joseph POLLOCK of Hamilton Ontario, and 30 year old David Lee GAULT of Milton, Ontario were issued a Provincial Offences Notice and charged under the Trespass to Property Act with engage in prohibited activity.
The OPP discourages this behaviour and has seen as escalation in this type of activity. Once you add height and distance to an already risky behaviour you increase your chances of injury or death. The public are being asked to contact police immediately to report this activity.
