(Oro-Medonte, ON)- On Saturday July 12th at 2:25 AM, Barrie Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a traffic complaint in the area of Hwy. 400 northbound and County Rd 93 in the Twp. of Oro-Medonte. A motorist reported a vehicle traveling behind was all over the road then suddenly was no longer behind him.
Officers patrolled the area and located a black 4 door car in the right side ditch on the northbound side of Hwy. 400. The vehicle was perpendicular to the highway with the rear bumper about 8 feet off the road. The driver was observed reclined in the driver’s seat. The officer had to open the door and shake the male to wake him. The ignition key was in and the vehicle began to chime when the officer opened to door. The driver attempted to silence the chime 3 times by trying to shut the radio off, the radio was not on.
Investigation into the condition of the driver revealed that he was operating this motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Charged with “Care and control over 80 mgs†and “Fail to Provide a Breath Sample†is Randall MAY 50 years old from Ramara Twp. His licence was suspended for a period of 90 days under the Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS) program and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Barrie on July 28th.
