(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – On Sunday, July 13, 2014, a Haldimand County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was on patrol in the Town of Caledonia, in Haldimand County. At approximately 11:19 p.m., the officer observed a dirt bike driving on Kinross Street with no lights.
The officer activated the emergency lights and attempted to stop the dirt bike. The dirt bike fled on Braemar Street, so the officer turned off the emergency lights. A short time later the dirt bike lost control and ended on a lawn on Braemar Street. The driver and passenger both fled on foot, however through the investigation both individuals were later located by police. The driver sustained non-life threatening injuries during the incident.
The fourteen year old male driver from Northern Ontario is scheduled to attend a Cayuga Provincial Court at a later date to answer to the following Criminal charges:
Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle
Flight while Pursued by Peace Officer
Fail to Stop at Scene of Accident
