(RED LAKE, ON) – On July 9th, 2014 at 12:20 pm an officer from the Red Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting a traffic stop on Highway 105 when a dump truck passed without slowing down or moving over for the police car. The officer initiated a traffic stop and observed the driver to be under the influence of alcohol.
As a result of the investigation Lorne MARKS, age 60 of Red Lake, Ontario was charged with Impaired operation of a motor vehicle contrary to section 253(1) (a) of the Criminal Code, Driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood contrary to section 253(1) (b) of the Criminal Code, Fail to slow down and proceed with caution for emergency vehicle contrary to section 159(2) of the Ontario Highway Traffic Act, Fail to accurately complete daily inspection report contrary to section 107(5) of the Ontario Highway Traffic Act and Driving a motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor contrary to section 32(1) of the Liquor Licences Act.
