CHARGE LAID UNDER STUNT DRIVING LEGISLATION

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On July 22, 2014, a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting RADAR enforcement on Highway 401 near Highgate Road.

Just after 3:00 p.m., the officer observed a westbound Ford automobile that appeared to be exceeding the posted speed limit of 100 km/hr. The RADAR registered a speed of 162 km/hr.

The 17 year old male driver, from Kingsville, has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Speeding by 50 or More Kilometres Per Hour, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The driver’s licence has been suspended and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days, as per statute.
